[battler typically isn't one to really notice the feelings of others around him, he could hardly care less actually, but the way terra says that... it just sounds odd to him.

battler stops walking, which would then make her stop as well, and he turns to look at her. he frowns now, tilting his head as he attempts to understand her. it was hard, trying to figure out others, but he could try for terra at least.]

...What's wrong?

[Terra stops with him and turns to face him. She feels heat crawl up to her cheeks at his question.]

It's nothing.

[Nothing that she knows how to explain anyway.]

[....ah, he actually finds this to be incredibly amusing. battler grins as he stared down at her. he had a feeling of what it could be, and he decided to bring it up to her.]

Perhaps... are you.... jealous? [battler knew the concept of jealousy, but he hadn't ever experienced it himself either.]

[Terra looks up at him, her expression a mixture of confusion and nervousness.]

I don't know. [Her voice is soft and she gently slips her fingers from his hand feeling a little uncomfortable.] I don't know what that is.

[Maybe...]

[...ah, battler frowns when she moves her hands out of his grasp. he scoffs a little, and he wants to grab her hand again, but instead he places his hands in his pockets like a defeated child.]

Jealousy is.... a feeling of anxiety, fear, concern.... in regards to something of value. In this instance... I suppose you could be jealous that I am with other women that aren't you.

[best explanation he can give, really.]

[Terra watches him and as his explanation continues she realizes that she feels the emotion he's describing. Her fingers lace together in front of her as a nervous flutter rises in her chest.]

Oh...

[She doesn't like the feeling.]

[battler glances over at her, noticing that she seems to feel even worse once he had explained to her what jealousy was. he smiled again, but this time he stepped in towards her. he kept his hands in his pockets, but he leaned down towards her, his lips right at her ear.]

I am indebted to them... one is my master... another I owe.... however you-... you are the one I am free with. I am free to do whatever with you, and so you are the one I crave to be around... constantly...

[Terra remains perfectly still as Battler steps closer. She feels her heart pounding in her chest as a bright flush rises to her cheeks. She doesn't know what to do but his words sink into her chest and resonate deep within her.

She doesn't know what to do with that feeling.]

ah-

[She wants to reach out towards him but something stops her from moving.]

[battler just stays like that for a moment, extremely close to her but hardly touching her, before he turns his head so his lips glide over her cheek. he speaks softly against her, now holding himself back from taking hold of her.]

Do you understand what I'm saying to you....? I am around you because I want to be... you... do not cage me, and that is why I adore you...

[Terra can hear her heartbeat pounding in her chest. Her breathing becomes thicker as his breath and voice brush against her cheek.]

I do.

[She understands and its making it hard to think of more than how close battler is standing to her.]

Good.

[instead of teasing her any more, battler just pulls away from her entirely. he straightens himself up and he reaches out for her hand again. he starts to tug her once more, urging her to keep walking with him like before.]

[She feels a sharp inhale of breath when Battler steps away and continues their walk. The night air prickles against her skin cooling the heat coursing through her frame.

Her fingers curl around his hand and she falls in step next to him.]

[he continues to walk with her, simply enjoying her presence, and taking in the night air at the same time. he isn't sure what else to say either, he just wanted to walk with terra.]

[Terra follows at his side, moving through the familiar dark streets. She looks over at Battler a few times though she has nothing to say and remains silent.

It's strange, everything about this is unfamiliar and yet somehow comfortable. She doesn't know if she should be worried.]

Should we head back soon?

If you wish....

[battler paused for a moment before he started speaking again.] But I will lay with you yet again. I.... enjoy staying next to you while you sleep.

Ah, I'd like that.

[Terra turns to head back towards the house, her heart beginning to drum nervously in her chest. She likes having him nearby and she's been sleeping better since he's joined her in bed.]
